Man killed in overnight Wayne Co. shooting | News

One man is dead in Wayne County after being shot in his own driveway late Wednesday night just outside of Screven.

Investigators say Ron Burch, 41, of Screven, was shot by 57-year-old James Edwin Anderson Sr., of Jesup. The shooting occurred in Burch's driveway on Nine Run Road near Dixie Road and Old O'Quinn Church Road.

Warrants for two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, felony murder and malice murder are being sought at this time.

Anderson is being held at the Wayne County Law Enforcement Center.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Screven Police Department, GBI Kingsland and GBI Statesboro continue to investigate.
