GBI: 2 dead in Appling Co. murder-suicide | News
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says a man shot his wife and then himself in southeast Appling County.
Appling dispatch got a call at 12:10 p.m. Thursday from the employer of Maxine Wright, 56, saying she had not shown up to work. Deputies went to her home at 2148 Oliff Thornton Rd. and discovered the back of the door open with two bodies inside.
The GBI was called to assist in the investigation. The Appling County Coroner pronounced both subjects dead at the scene. The man was identified at 60-year-old Calvin Willis Wright.
