USDA Baxley office to close | News
ATHENS, GA (WTOC)- The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture's Georgia Rural Development Office in Baxley is scheduled to close next month.
The closure was announced Tuesday for the Area Six office. The office has served the Southeast region of Georgia for more than 30 years, according to the USDA.
The closure scheduled to be complete by Dec. 7. The USDA Service Center located at 703 East Ward St. in Douglas, GA will be the new Area Office for Area Six.
USDA offices in Statesboro, Blackshear and Douglas, Ga. will remain open.
Rural Development has a portfolio of more than $172 billion in loans and loan guarantees, according to the USDA.
